Background/History:
The Birth Of Zero.
Zero, once known as Kain, was an orphan taken in by the Russain church at the age of 5. Three years later Kain was brought down to the basement by the head preist. It was there that he saw hundreds of kids and teenagers, all being experimented on. For what? Kain will soon find out. He was brought to an altar in a large circular room surrounded by men in black robes and masks. Kain was placed upon the altar by the preist. The preist then stepped away as the robed men moved around Kain and brought out their surgical tools. They started to operate on the young boy. Kain screamed as they cut into him, using no pain killers. He looks up to see the men talk amongst themselves. Kain, out of touch with his senses, can only hear the voices as murmurs. One of the men turns around for a quick second and turns back with a glowing red stone. Kain's internal organs start to brightly glow, as he screams in immense pain. The masked man then pulled the stone back and placed it away. They then sewed Kain back up and placed him into a cell. A few days later the masked men came to his cell with a candle. " Put it out. " The one in front said. " And not by any normal means, pull the oxygen out from it. " Kain looked at the men, confused. " How? " He hesitantly asked. " Just concentrate. " The masked man replied. He then placed the candle on the ground; he and the others turned around and left, closing the cell door behind them. Kain sat there and stared into the flame for about an hour and a half. It was then Kain became frustrated at the candle that was before him and turned around. About forty minutes later, Kain turned back to the candle. Calmer now, Kain focuses into the flame. He blunk and the flame disappeared. Amazed, Kain looke up to see the masked men standing outside of his cell; each holding a candle. Kain extened out an open palm out to the flames and then clentched it into a fist. The flames went out, leaving no smoke, only hydrogen gas in its place. The lead masked figure steps forward. " Congradulations. You are now reborn as Zero. Zero Twilight. "
Friends And Power
Years passed, as Zero was transferd out of his cell and placed into a large room with children that could also control an element off the Periodic Table. It was there that he trained his powers against the other children, and sealing his place among the top five. He trained night and day, trying to keep his spot and not be killed by the others. For living in this pit of hell it is always life or death. To let your guard down or trust others is to show weakness and welcome death. Or so he thought. A few weeks passed by and he met his opponent for the day. A young girl named Nina, who could control the element of Iron. He thought this was a joke and didn't bother to look at her. She had a fierce look of determination in her eyes as she approached Zero. She tugged him down by the shirt and held an iron blade to his throat. " Why won't you look at me?!? " She yelled at him. Zero didn't say a word as he just glared over towards her and watched as her blade rusted and fell apart; before her eyes. She fell to her kness in shock, as it was her dream to take out one of the top members. Zero then walked away from Nina. She then got up and started to follow Zero everywhere he went, looking for a weakness to exploit in him. This annoyed Zero greatly, as it continued for days; seeing as she never kept her eyes off of him. Eight days passed by until he finally looked over towards her. " How long are you going to keep this up? " Zero asked Nina. " Until I find your weakness. " She replied. As days passed, their conversations grew longer and more friendlier. Soon after they became close friends, never leaving eachothers sides. They soon came to realize that they will only have eachother to rely on. Years passed as they bacame closer, until one fateful night.....
Death And A New Life
Zero, now 17, wanders alone in the dark hallways in the basement of the church. A few minutes earlier the cloaked men let loose these strange creatures with holes in their bodies, mostly in the upper torso area. They slaughterd most of the kids and teens while the higher ranked ones were able to fend off most of them. But one ran off and grabbed Nina along the way. Zero chased after the strange monster. Along the way, he thought to himself how it was strange that not all of the kids seemed to be aware of the monsters. He caught up to the monster, only to find Nina dead in it's hand; blood was all over the monster. Zero, now in a fit of rage, rushed into the monster and placed his hand upon it's face. He yelled out in anger as he took away all the oxygen out of the area of the monster's mouth and lungs, suffocating it. The monster drops to the ground and stops moving all together. Zero walks back to the pit, to see the rest of the monsters killed and only a handful of the kids still alive. The masked men soon came out and explained what just happend and what they fought. The kids were shocked to find out what they have just learned. Zero, in his anger, fought against the masked men. He lost quickly and was punished for it. His punishment was to goto the area greatly infested with hollows, Karakura Town. Zero was sent out the next day to head to the church of Karakura Town. Where he has now lived for the past fours years, fighting the hollows.
