Tengoku no Nakimushi, The Trusty (And rarely used) Sword of Yoshirou Akiyama

-Sealed Description:
While sealed the blade is remarkably normal. It takes the form of a slightly longer than normal katana, with a 2 and a half shaku length (Roughly 75.75 centimeters) With a long handle making it's total length roughly 97.5 centimeters. However, when drawn from the sheath, the blade seems to get longer, growing to about 3 shaku in length (Roughly 90.9 centimeters), the handle bringing the blade to about 112.9 centimeters. The entire blade seems to have the palest of blue sheens to it, Almost as if it was ice. The handle is wrapped in a dark blue cloth, However the strips have a wave pattern border of a much lighter blue color, almost the color of the froth at the top of a wave. This causes his handle to look like it has waves crashing down across it. Hanging off the very end is a "chain" roughly 5 centimeters long that looks to be made of 5 scales, Each one of a pale blue color, similar to the color of the water of a tropical sea. This is stark contrast to the much darker blue found upon the main of the handle. The chain is sometimes used to twirl the blade around, Proving it to be extremely strong.

The sheath is normal, black, with a soft blue rim of color around the opening. It will quite often be used to fight with if he draws his blade.

-Camouflage:
The blade will sometimes, especially when he doesn't want it to be noticed, disguised as a blind man's cane. The cane is of a normal length for a man of yoshirou's height, and of a completely black color. However, He has been known to camoflauge it as a walking stick, roughly six feet in length. He will sometimes fight with it in this form, whacking people's knees viciously and such. He has been once seen using it as a strange mix between a drawn blade and this staff camaflauge, effectively using his blade as a naginata.

-Manifestation-
-Appearance:
Ama no Tengoku takes two forms, However the more frequent one is that of an extremely long dragonoid creature, An icy blue in hue. Arms are present shortly down the body from it's head, and it's tail has a "fin" of a sort, basically similar to the kind possessed by a sea snake. This is quite often used to hit Yoshirou with, making a very effective paddle.

Despite being in such a reptellian form, She still appears beautiful somehow, inspiring almost peace in those who look at her..Providing she is calm at the time. If she's angry..All bets are off.

Her more humanoid form is that of a women, dressed in traditional japanese garb. Her hair drapes down to her hips, and her entire body, her hair, her clothing, all have the icy blue tint possessed by her scales in her draconic form. She is stunningly beautiful in this form, As long as she's not mad. If she's mad, she's incredibly scary.

-Personality:
Ama no Tengoku is usually the more excitable one of the voices within Yoshirou's head. She will be the first to want to fight somebody, and is really a sword with a spirit befitting of a former member of the eleventh division.

However, She's not stupid, by any means. She knows her limits, and has before told Yoshirou that he's pushing her past them. However, she always does whatever she can for him, even at the price of herself. She trusts Yoshirou completely, as he trusts her. There is an extremely strong bond between the two, causing her to be much stronger then any normal sword in her shi and ban kai.

She is also constantly trying Yoshirou to get a love aspect, although he never does. She sometimes teases him, though always in a loving manner.

In most ways, their relationship could be compared to that between an older brother and a younger sister.

-Inner World:
Yoshirou's inner world takes the form of an ocean, With many aspects changing according to his mood. If he is calm, and at peace, it is a very strange place. The surface of the water will be completely calm, except for the ripples caused by Yoshirou and Ama no Tengoku, and by the rain that is always falling in this world. However, when he's calm, it seemingly comes out of thin air, not a cloud being in the sky. It will also be completely clear, allowing him to see all the way to the sea floor, with not a single fish in the water. What will be in the water is the body of his spirit, the long, snake-like body.

Sadness creates a different place. The sea will be moody, though not very active. However amazing torrents of rain will fall from the sky, Just a steady wall of water. Nothing else.

Anger is different yet. The storm will be furious, lightning and thunder competeing for dominance in the sky as the sea roils in anger beneath them.


-Connection:
The sea can represent many things in many places but in the instance of Yoshirou's inner world it represents his steadfast resolve. No matter what emotions may hit him, no matter what wounds he may sustain, he will always be there, and always be a force to be reckoned with. No matter what waves crash over it's surface, no matter how much rain and lightning batter's it body, the sea is always there, and will never give up, much like Yoshirou.


The dragon that is his manifestation represents his ferocity. While he may be calm, he can anger, and when he does it is a fearsome thing, and few will live to tell tale of it.

-Release Phrase:
Jibun no tsumi no tame ni sakebu, mimasu hito no daraku, nakidashimasu , Tengoku no Nakimushi! | Cry for their sins, watch the fall of man, Burst into tears, Heavenly Crier!

-Shikai Appearance:
While in shikai there is no real change in the appearance of Tengoku no Nakimushi, It will still appear just to be a normal metal blade. However if you pay attention, You'll see that it reflects light differently, and water seems to constantly drip off of the lowest points on the blade, though not very quickly. This is because the blade is constantly covered in water, changing the way the light reflects off of it, and causing droplets to fall from it at a constant rate, which of course increases when he's moving. Because of the water coating it, it won't conduct electricity unless the source is directly touching the blade, as the water is pure and thus doesn't conduct electricity.

There is no other physical change to his blade, which can sometimes cause people to underestimate it.

However there is a physical aspect that is rarely guessed, because of the rain. Yoshirou's entire body becomes covered in water, that clings to his body much more than it would to anyone else, about a centimeter thick layer. This layer acts as an armor of sort. A blunt attack will be reduced greatly by hitting the way (Similar to how you suddenly decelerate upon belly flopping into a pool), a sharp slash will be slightly reduced, and a stabbing attack will receive next to no reduction, because it will simply slide through the surface tension. The water also maintains a remarkably constant temperature, meaning it's good armor against thermal attacks as well. Naturally, fire and lightning are extremely weakened.

-Shikai Ability:
Tengoku no Nakimushi reveals two main abilities while in it's shikai, and only one can be guessed by it's name and release phrase. Whenever his blade is released it starts to rain, dark clouds obscuring the sun and skies. The rain is a rather heavy shower, but that is all it is for now, water falling from the sky. This ability is always present whenever Tengoku no Nakumushi is released, and to this day noone has been able to void it, not wind, not fire, not even water. The water falling from the sky is completely pure H20, meaning it has 0 conductivity.

The clouds blocking the sun and the water drops in the air obscure vision rather well, limiting the effectiveness of that sense to within a yard or two.

Another sense blocked out by the rain is hearing. Because of the constant sound of the rain beating down upon the landscape and your body, a backdrop din will constantly fill your hears, making it much harder to hear quieter sounds, Such as speech. This means it'd be impossible to hear someone reciting the incantation for a kidou unless they were right next to you.

The final senses blocked out by the rain are your sense of touch, and your spiritual sense. Because of the cold water, your skin will be slightly numbed, meaning you won't feel delicate touches, such as the tip of a blade just barely touching your skin before punctures it.

Every droplet of the rain has a small amount of Yoshirou's reiatsu in it, meaning that it is nearly impossible to detect him by his reiatsu, because the entire area will reek of it.

The main ability of this sword is a mild control of any liquids. However, it is very mild, and if somebody else was attempting to control the liquid, he would be helpless, and they would take control over it. Most people however can only control water, and he can control anything in a liquid form, so he can sometimes take advantage of this little difference to control things they wouldn't think of. (Such as milk, or orange juice. Because god knows, having orange juice flung into your eyes is not fun.) But i'll state again. This ability is completely useless against any other ability focused on directly controlling a liquid.

Now there is an exception to this weakness, which forms the offensive nature of his ability. If a liquid is saturated fully with his reiatsu, he can supercede any control over it, making him it's only master. Now in shikai, what liquid is there that is saturated by his reiatsu? Naturally, the rain water.

By asserting his control over a localized section of it he can condense the water droplets into extremely thin edges, allowing him to use them as offensive blades. There are two main ways to do this, and of course shades of grey between them.

He can use each droplet to make a single point, and make many shallow piercing wounds upon the target, or condense the droplets into a single edge, making a much deeper and more powerful slash wound. (It'd be about as strong as an average sword slash.)

A similar effect will happen whenever he swings his sword or any other part of his body moves, water collecting along the leading edge and forming a cutting edge, making his blade stronger, and his fist able to leave lacerations upon a body. Of course, his body parts would not make very sharp or large edges, and would merely lacerate at the most, but it would be painful.

Now this can only be done in a localized area, at most gathering a square yard of rain drops in his Shikai release. If he tries to expand it to an area larger than that, the strength of this manipulation goes down, and the only real thing he can do anymore is control the direction of the rain. Which he will do rather effectively, Always slanting it so that it goes into his enemy. He can infact slant different parts of the storm different directions, meaning he can have the rain slant in opposing directions, or slant into one several point, confusing the fuck out of people and causing them to be effectively drenched and having rain flying into their eyes.

Now, this requires a small amount of concentration, as people would assume, however not as much as people might guess, and this leads to one of his shikai's deceptions. Before using the offensive ability he will usually cease the rain's slant, causing people to think he can't do both at once. Then at an opportune time, he will create blades from the droplets while keeping the slant, creating a rather effective suprise attack.

-Techniques:

Haretsu! | Burst!
A technique with dual uses, it is one of the fancier attacks of Tengoku no Nakimushi.

By dispersing the reiatsu within a localized area of droplets (1-2 square yards) in the area near him (Within 50 yards.) he can cause it to boil in midair, creating a rather hot steam cloud. This of course would obscure vision to a much higher degree, while scalding stuff. If someone breathed it in, the inside of their throat would receive minor burns. If their eyes were open, they would become extremely irritated.

Now, i said dual uses, didn't i? By further manipulating the reiatsu, he can actually supercool the steam cloud in it's instant of creation, dropping its temperature to 0 fahrenheit. This supercooled vapor cloud will instantly freeze onto any solid surface it can find, such as a persons body, creating a thin layer of ice upon them. If they were unlucky enough to breathe it in, they would have a small layer of ice in their lungs, which would quickly translate to fluid in their lungs in reduced breathing efficiency, along with small cuts on the insides of their lungs as breathing would cause the ice to splinter. However this requires more control, and incites a longer cooldown.

Duration: For 1 round. As in, next time it's Yoshirou's post, the steam would have dissipated, and the supercooled vapor would have simply settled into a small ice patch which would be there for a post or two.

Mikumyakuhaku! |Water pulse
Mikumyakuhaku is a technique which can be used for both offense and defense, however the offensive version is merely a controlled extension of the defensive version that has been improvised by Yoshirou, so first i will list the defensive version of this technique.

By spinning his blade by the chain attached to it he will first gather the rain drops from a large area around him. If the opponent is within 4 feet of his sword's handle, he will become suddenly visible. Between four and six, he would be a murky outline, and above six it would be the same rainy view to anyone.

The blade will then be brought infront of him, unless it was already there, and it will slow, the water collected along it lagging behind, forming a disk of water in one rotation. From that point on the blade will speed up, creating a "pulse" through the water disk that is used to deflect attacks. This disk can be maintained and moved for about 2 posts before Yoshirou has to dissapate it. Also, if you physically touch the disk, it would of course hurt, Since you're pushing your body into highly pressurized water that is pulsing, not to mention the sword flying through it.

This shield can deflect a good portion of Kido, up to about 60, High powered Cero, Bala in general, and a good deal of physical attacks. It will however break if too much strain is applied to it.

It takes just under a second to form, meaning it is a viable way to deflect attacks.

Now you're wondering about to offensive part, correct? For the offensive, he cannot move. For this attack to be effective he must find and locate his opponent, and be sure of their movements, as the attack is dodgeable. It will rarely be used as a blind shot, because of the fact that it reveals his location.

When this is done, he will aim it at the enemy. He can move the disk, however he must be steady in his position, as this attack has a good deal of recoil. When position is reached, the speed of the swords rotation will increase drastically, and the water will be begin to ripple violently, even as the disk extends, flattening out slightly. At the same time, all the rain in the area behind Yoshirou will begin to tilt slightly towards him, Even as the rain infront of him begin to tilt away. However the tilt is not steady. It will pulse and whip, as if wind is driving it, dying down before roaring up again, but there will be no wind (Unless it's natural). This would last for about a second before suddenly a huge amount of water from Behind yoshirou would fire straight into the disk, leaving the air free of water as a column of water roughly 10 feet wide launches forward, Gathering water as it shoots, gaining a 2 foot width for every 3 feet traveled. The water is heavily suffused with concentrated reiatsu from the rain it was created from, making this attack extremely comparable to a Cero. However, It continues. Upon impact, Yoshirou will actually manipulate the water to curve around, So that even they manage to block the impact from their front, The rest of it will impact into them from their back, And from above them, possibly below them if this attack is performed upon a mid-air target.

There are small amounts of warning which would allow someone to attempt to dodge this. The reiatsu gathering in the column of water would be there, and senseable as it would be detracting from the water that would normally prevent them from sensing his reiatsu. However because of the speed of the column, this would only be a couple seconds warning. It would also pull the rain towards it, making the storm less dense, so they could possibly see it just a second before it impacts.

Your shikai has way too many abilities.. It's just a shikai, after all. I'd recommend picking between your rain, control of liquids, and intangibility. I'll give you two out of the three, maybe.
