Character/Player Bio:

-Personality:: Jin is a moderately quite guy he strives to achieve but only because he likes having the ability to overcome the challenges that are thrown his way, with no real passion or aim he's usually very laid back. Faliure hits him hard he dosn't like to lose at things (who does i suppose) but when he does he'll run the scenario around his head over and over till he can anylyse his mistakes and work out a way around them next time. he enjoys the company of others feeling the most comfortable in a humoured atmosphere, but in battle he has no time for jokes, althought usually laid back when challenged he will always try to defeat his enemy quickly and efficiently having no time for those who oppose him. on saying that he's not the kind of guy with an overbearing mindset (get in my way your dead) he enjoys the occasional friendly challenge or even a light rivalry but those who oppose him in an aggressive manner must always be dealt with without mercy.

-Rank: Im not sure how the ranks work with vizards on this site so ill just say highest possible

-History: Jin lived a preety complacent life, he went to school in tokyo which is where he was born, his mother and father were scientists working for a large pharmaceutical company they had been transferred from england to Tokyo to be closer to a project they were working on, they had varied hours so much of his time was spent alone or when he was younger with his nanny Li song, she was very close too him. In his younger years he had taken alot of abuse at school for being so quite and reading much of the time, but no matter how hard it got she'd always managed to nurse him through it and keep him cheerful. when he was 10 she was mugged returning home after grocery shopping unfortunately even after handing over her valuables the mugger had wanted more, making moves toward raping her she had not been a very strong woman but she did have her pride and refused him in his efforts resulting in her murder. this news crushed Jin pushing him into a deep depression, he refused to eat or drink, didnt talk to anyone and wouldn't even leave his bed for the first week, but he overcame it through remembering the way Li song had treated him and made him feel, memories of her gave him strength and from then on he always lived for optimism enjoying humour and became more sociable. His parents didnt replace the nanny deeming him old enough to look after himself at his age so from there on he became much more independant organising his affairs and cooking for him and his smaller sister Jade who was nearly 4 years younger than him and he was vey protective of her. They shared a strong bond, each day after dinner they would spend at least an hour or two in each others company like clockwork partaking in varied activities. Time passed and Jin moved further through education his life uneventful and monotonous, he enjoyed spending time with his friends during school hours but didnt go out that much out side of school due to feeling he had to take care of Jade. Other than his sister, chores and his studies he found himself with little else to do. It was at age 17 that he died, he was coming home from college, stood on the escalator moving towards the platform to get the train home, the same train he'd caught everyday for the past two years. There was a commotion behind him at the top of the escalator a man had jumped over the barriers in the hopes of avoiding purchase of a ticket and was now running toward the escalator trying to avoid the guard. He reached the top of the motorised staircase shoving the patrons of the subway from his path knocking people in every direction before reaching Jin, at this point the guards had closed in and the mans frenzied panic became intensified he pushed past Jin with an over aggressive motion that sent Jin tumbling down the metal steps sounds of ligaments tearing and bones splintering filled the subway to the horrified gasps of onlookers. The corpse finally came to a standstill at the base of the escalator the limp broken limbs lay crumpled in horrifically unnatutal angles strewn with blood from the sickening hollow now apparent on Jins cracked skull.

It was on that day that Jin entered Rukongai he was at a loss as to his environment unable to fathom what possible realm this could be as he'd had no believe in life after death as a living man. the villagers of rukongai clearly used to this reaction from new residents quickly welcomed Jin explaining to him his new home. he settled in quickly happy to do the mundane chores that the villagers asked of him in return for food and shelter until he saw it, a shinigami walking by in the streets of rukongai, the illuminating authority of his strides inspired Jin, the way this mans mere presence was able to push the air from his lungs called to him, jin knew his newest goal it was to become one of them..........A shinigami. it was shortly after this that he joined the shinigami academy the beggining of his new life as a soul.

After 50 years spent studying in the academy, Jin finally graduated it was a day that whilst is was filled with triumph it was simultaneously marred by the fact that whilst others who had scored highly in they’re classes were being snapped up by noble families recruited for positions of honour, Jin who had come top in 3 out of 5 classes those being swordsmanship, kidou and athletics, was left stood they’re wondering what kind of division he would be entering. As far as the other two were concerned (history of seretei and politics and diplomacy) it wasn’t that he had failed these classes he just hadn’t done as well in them as they’re subject matter was of no real interest to him. He was more of a compassionate soldier rather than the influential type, he would rather make a difference on the battlefield than in the office and this apparently was not the criteria looked for in a shinigami by the heads of the Four main households. But that just couldn’t be helped and the only thing for it was to look forward, no point in being bogged down by disappointment so ahead Jin went. His skills being recognised as perfectly befitting of a placement in squad 6, the internal affairs division almost like policing the police. But the role suited Jin perfectly and within a matter of weeks he had settled in fine and was well known to his squad mates.

Jin had always stood out since joining the seretei as when he first materialised his Zan-pak-tou he had received a set of dual blades not a regular occurrence within the ranks of shinigami and it was considered very significant by his superiors who were constantly sending him of strenuous missions to test his capabilities and push him to his limits. But he relished in it, his biggest fear upon joining the army of soul reapers was that initially he would be stuck with all the shitty grunt work. Cleaning the barracks etc. but here he was 3 years in and he was already leading platoons to vanquish the hollow that tormented rukongai. He had an almost untarnished record for mission’s, the lowest casualty rate as mission leader in all divisions of anyone lt or below and a kill count on hollow that was within 6 digits, after 200 years of servitude within his division steadily rising to the rank of 4th seat he was offered the place of Lt serving under Captain Itsudeki. The captain was a powerful man, but he never let it show he was always calm in any situation no matter how dire and treated Jin as though they were old friend’s. In short he was the perfect man to work under, But in battle he was a fearful warrior his Zan-pak-tou one of the most lethal Jin had ever, has ever and possibly will ever witness. Not once during his 357 years as luitentant did he once see his captain come even close to losing a battle, he was truly majestic in combat cutting down foes flawlessly.

By this point in his life Jin had acquired his shikai, and was fairly content with how things were. As a Luitenant he had enough power to be able to make important decisions and have a say in how things were run, and was always informed of any dealings within the Seretei even more so due to being the deputy of the internal affairs squad. Free time was always fun, there were more than enough bars and leisure spots to hang about at and a constant supply of new women entering so things never got stale, but best of all he didn’t have to deal with nearly as much work as his captain things were SWEET!

That was until The Day the Black ones came. It was a simple ploy, to destroy the seretei and everything in it the hollow were going to use two of the most basic attribute’s that made them so lethal. 1. they’re numbers 2. they’re innate ability to bridge every one of the worlds that sat parallel. The swarmed the soul society thousands if not millions of them, out numbering shinigami at least 100:1, but they weren’t so stupid to think that they could take over the fortress of the death gods with sheer brute force. As the numbers poured in gaping black pit’s began to tear open the fabric of the sky, now when a garganta is formed it’s usually no problem as they are fairly space out in location and infrequent in the creation. But here we had thousands upon thousands all being torn open at once, it was utter chaos, it came to a point where the was no blue left to the sky, lairing wounds of darkness all fused together to form a canopy of nothingness. Pure hell. The Captains struggled to seal the scars with they’re incredible reiatsu’s whilst every luitenant and below along with nearly half of division zero began to cut through the demonic hordes, slowly but surely reducing they’re numbers.

After nearly a week of constant battle the shinigami triumphed, the captains had held off the dimensions complete breakdown and had even managed to nearly re fabricate it with the help of an artefact provided by the soul king. But it was not without cost, so many garganta formed simultaneously had created a mass vacuum that had claimed the lives of many Death Gods including a couple of the captains. It was a bleak day as Jin returned from combat his uniform torn and caked with blood and mud, his left arm hung limp by his side fractured in so many places he could no longer count, to find his captain propped against one of Seretei’s many walls his skin as wrinkled as a prune as he gasped for air. He had used an infinite amount of reiatsu more than he could physically provide and while it was the source of a shinigami’s power there was also areserve tank that was the source of they’re life. It was for them the blood that flowed through they’re veins, the sustenance that kept them alive and for Captain Itsudeki it was gone, spent saving the lives of others the only way he would have wanted to die.

Jin Sat with the man for the last hour of his life, as they reminisced about the time they had shared and swapped stories recanting the days they had spent amongst the living. And to this day there has not been an hour of Jin’s life that was better spent.

30 years later and we see Jin now risen up as the captain of division 6, a position he would have never thought possible for himself. Watching how the divisions previous head lived his life gave this shinigami the fire and drive he required to strive for more, to achieve further. During the last hundred years of his luitenantship he had spent many days conversing with the spirit of his blade trying to coax it into revealing its second form to him. But Leviathan would not have it, and remained resolute in his belief that Jin just did not have the will power to control his power, that he was not deserving to witness it. But in the days that followed his captain’s death his whole attitude had changed and it would seem it had not gone unnoticed by the spirit of his katana. Within 20 Years he had mastered his bankai, applying for a permanent position as the head of his division upon the day he achieved it and with a record like his it was not long before he was tested and deemed acceptable to fill the role.

400 years passed, 400 years of Jin dutifully protecting his comrades, 400 years of leading his division and setting a flawless example of courage and strength just as his mentor had done for him, 400 years thrown away in an instant when the hollow that resided within decided to make an appearance.

Jin’s transference from the mortal world to rukongai had not been a hasty one, for weeks he had travelled the town of his death looking for his family to warn the of the tragedy that had befallen him, to tell them that everything was alright and that he had not suffered and to say his final goodbye’s. But during that whole time he had found nothing but fear at the hands of the hollow that predated upon him, weeks of running for his life (if it could even be called that) the whole time his soul chain getting shorter and shorter. By the time the shinigami, that sent him across had found him he actually had a fairly small hole in his chest but the outer clothing had covered it up and as his saviour had luckily been fairly inattentive he had managed to be sent across to the world of the dead, rather than slain on the spot. But so long after this happening he had thought it irrelevant as so far it had seemed to produce no real ill effects. He was soon proved wrong.

It began with nightmares, he would wake up late at night screaming dripping in his own sweat several times his lieutenant Kaiyo had come running in to check the cause only to be reassured by he captain and sent on her way. But every time a light powdering of white dust would sheet the floor its origins unknown to Jin. Then it escalated, mid battle he would hear voices calling to him, telling him to release them, let them run free. Trying to convince him that the best solution was to slaughter everything around, sometimes he would even lose control of a limb his sword suddenly going wild much to the astonishment and fear of his followers. He couldn’t let it continue he was beginning to endanger the lives of his subordinates and attract the attention of the higher up’s and no matter what was causing this that could never be good.

By the cover of night he travelled to the 12 division barracks seeking out its captain Utokete, they had been Lieutenants during the same period and had grown to form quite the friendship. He was the one man Jin knew he could trust and the one man who could possibly help him.

After awaking the captain from a noisy slumber and nearly 36 hours of solid testing the man informed Jin that his transfer as a soul hadn’t quite gone to plan, and that over the year’s he’d had a hollow building up strength within him, and now that it had reached power levels mimicking that of a Vasto lorde the strength of his soul was no longer sufficient to suppress it. Which was why it was becoming progressively more dominant. Now as if this news wasn’t bad enough The head of the technology bureau then went on to tell the 6th division captain that the only way he could regain control of his body was to fight this thing……..and win…….within 2 hours of his body would be taken over. And albeit the fact he himself had been the one to seek the help of his man he could find himself at this point with only one solitary thought. THANK YOU VERY FUCKING MUCH FOR NOTHING!. How the hell was he supposed to accomplish this, Vasto lorde class hollow were barely even ever sighted let alone defeated and he somehow had one stuck inside his body, did this shit not show up on X-rays? Why the hell didn’t the bastard just hurry up and crawl out his arse like a good little parasite.

He was shaken by the news, knowing he could very well be facing the end of his existence. But even so he knew he had to go ahead, there was no way he could live a life where at any moment he could turn, and attack friend or foe with a ferocity almost unimaginable, not if he wanted to be the kind of man that would honour the teacher that he had so devoutly followed. So 45 minutes later, he was strapped to a metal bench with a needle simultaneously funnelling a sedative and a hallucinogenic into his veins apparently to ease him into the confrontation with his inner demon, whilst above him hung a 400 tone weight. Its purpose described to him as “a precaution incase things get nasty” once again he was left in awe of Utokete’s limitless compassion for life and poetic style of wording.

He quickly drifted off into the trance like state, where he met the hollow within. It was upon the top of a mountain, he was faced by a creature white as bone with a contrasting set of beady eyes black as onyx. The beast was fairly tall with lanky arms and claw like digits, stringy limb’s that seemed to be coated in thick tendon. Its elongated face perforated by gills whilst it’s back had a protruding fin. All in all it was fairly shark like.

He had barely a second to look at the creature before it was upon him slashing and tearing at him with incredible speeds as he used flash step to dot about the landscape using hit and run tactics to try and gain the upper hand. But whatever move he pulled he beast seemed to have a counter, completely out matching him all the way into Bankai where Jin finally seemed to be able to compete on par with it. Although described as a beast the hollow was in no way animalistic, it was calculating and manipulative regurgitating personal moments it had witnessed during Jin’s time as a soul at critical moments during battle hoping to throw the man off his game. But he refused to go down so easily, ignoring the anomoly’s pathetic jibes in favour of using the time it wasted with talking to sneak in attacks.

After nearly an hour and a half of fighting he had it on the ropes, pinned against a mountain side after Jin had feigned death at the hands of the Cero the freak produced. With his blade now at the thing’s throat he forced it to admit submission releasing him from its clutches and allowing him to awaken from the dream like state, but the awakening was like walking from dream to nightmare as he came-to to find blood streaked up the walls and the mutilated carcass of his dear friend strewn in the corner. Tears welled up in the shinigami’s eye as he looked round the room to see more innocent corpses of those who had walked in to quell the disturbance littering the floors and somehow walls of the barracks. Although it seemed selfish he had to leave and he knew it, the voice spoke to him once more but this time rather than an order it was just advice, telling instructing him on donning the mask he had earnt and using its power to tear open his exit from this grim situation, an so he did with tears running down his cheeks and a heart riddled with guilt he left his home. Never to see a familiar face again.

-Roleplay Samples:

Another day, another chore. Once again Jin had been assigned the job of patrolling Rukongai a moderately uneventful practice that left him free to watch the happy villager go about they’re daily routines. These slums were a poverty stricken place only two sectors in from the poorest outskirts, they were home to crime and disease backwater alleys filled with scum and death. Nothing seemed to prosper here the residents usually either ending up dead or on the short path through a career in crime, but that was the life of Rukongai and no matter how hard it got the peasants lived it with a smile. That was something that had always impressed Jin when he’d lived here the way that they managed to pull through the gruelling struggle that formed the everyday life on these streets without ever becoming depressed, a few steps in any direction and it wasn’t long before you’d hear the beginning note’s of some cheery shanty as the civilians sang they’re work away.

As bountiful a feeding ground as soul society was it was rare for it to experience the visiting of hollow. Filled with unarmed souls just ripe for the plucking but guarded by the Gotei 13 it proved an impressive deterrent to the demonic predators, upon saying that it wasn’t like there were never any hollow, there were always the odd few around the more hot-headed of the hollow population, breaking through to prove they’re worth and feed they’re lust for power but on the most part they stuck to the material world less abundant but also the less dangerous of the two or feeding on they’re brethren in the desert’s of Hueco Mundo.

As Jin walked the dusty street’s from the corner of his eye he noted a stream of people panic stricken and running out the entrance to one of Rukongai’s many back alley’s he smiled at the clear sign of trouble, a signal that his day wasn’t too be as boring as he’d first expected. As much as he hated the work of patrol it was even worse when all he had for entertainment was the sound of the idle chatter of the villagers.

Within a second he reached the source of the trouble using Hohou to stand above the alley. As he gazed down he saw what had instigated the panic the small sleek frame of a hollow lay beneath him feeding on the soul it had recently ensnared. The thin aerodynamic frame of a cheetah or some member of that big cat family, with a mask to match. The demon sniffed the air, sensing the new comer’s reiatsu it turned and fled running the backwater ally’s with uncanny speed. Jin wouldn’t permit that, a beast like this running the street’s of Rukongai was just too much of a threat it had too be stopped. He took off after it the wind whipping past his face as he deftly flash stepped through the tight confines, swiftly eluding the approaching turns never once missing a step his agility always compensating for him. The blurred surrounding flashed by just intertwining blocks of colour melding from one to the next as his focus stayed locked on his prey never letting the sprinting figure leave his line of vision.

His breathing was ragged and staggered the air passing him by so quickly he was having a hard time inhaling it, the aroma’s of his surrounding never able to grasp his nostril’s leaving him void of smell nothing concerning him other than his thought’s of catching his prey, he began pouring more Reiatsu to his lower limbs increasing further his speed, his moments nothing but a blur to passers by, slowly gaining on the creature, it had to be at least Adjuchas class to be keeping ahead of him at this speed, the distance between then becoming neither shortened nor stretched they were matched foot fall for foot fall. Jin pounded through the air his powerful movement ripping at his muscles, he wasn’t yet used to travelling at these speed’s yet and it was definitely taking its toll his leg’s becoming less and less responsive to his commands at the gap between the two un-sightable figures began to close. He was doing it finally closing in upon his victim, he knew what he had to do…..but could he manage it, so far he kept all his focus in maintaining his speed was it even possible to perform a kidou simultaneously? Well he was about too find out.

“Hadou Number 23: 36 Pound cannon”

The incantation ripping through his throat as a rasp his voice box left as nothing more than a dried hunk of flesh from the harsh currents he had forcibly inhaled down his throat. The condensed blade of wind shot from his hand slicing through the fleeing hollow cleaving it in two, Jin skidded too a halt able to do nothing more than pant trying to revive his oxygen deprived organs. As the hollow scattered to the wind, nothing left but it decomposing carcass Jin released his Hohou dropping to the floor, as he moved to walk away from the scene wanting to find a bench to rest his weary muscles he saw something flutter in the wind. It was a seal, half attached to the back of the rapidly disintegrating hollow’s head, and what was more Jin recognised the symbol it was a control seal………..someone had been puppeteering this hollow.

“Ahh shit” he sighed under the realisation that he’d just managed to stumble upon even more work.

If you're going for with, would you mind expanding upon your history a little? Tell about his time within the S.S., Rising to the rank of captain, and gaining his inner hollow. If you do that, I will assure you an approval with bankai.
