Standing at 5'10" tall, Ryu does not cut an imposing figure. His red hair, cut short to keep it form blocking his eyes in combat, is kept neat so as not to slow him down by flailing around. His eyes, cold and distant pits of blackness, are always alert, and almost never close, even when he sleeps. He is very lean, and relies mainly on his own speed during combat, although he is surprisingly strong for his size. The rest of his body is kept hidden from view by his clothing, which he only removes to bathe. His arms and legs are covered in scars from old battles, and his back is similarly scarred, which is usually why he never removes his clothes, for he sees them as "signs of shame" instead of objects of pride, as most Shinigami do. His chest is unusually free of scars, as is his face, and although he attributes this to his superior fighting skills, most believe it (much to his chagrin) to be because none of his opponents are willing to face him openly in direct combat, fearing annihilation. He has a serial number on the back of his neck, which was tattooed onto his skin when he was "born" into the Rebirth project.

-Preferred Wardrobe:
Ryu always wears the same clothing, never once changing his outfit since acquiring it some 5 years ago. It consists of a of red over coat, usually unzipped, with black metal shoulder pads, which reach down halfway towards his elbow, and halfway across towards his neck, both of which are attached to the coat via silver studs. There is a small hole in the side of his coat where his Zan's hilt sticks out, allowing him to quickly reach it whenever need be. Underneath his coat, he wears something akin to leather overalls, with strips of metal added in for extra durability. The "overalls" reach all the way towards his ankles, with support straps crossing over each other at his chest, so as to increase mobility and yet keep the "overalls" on. He usually wears black leather boots, strapped to his thighs so as not to come off during combat. On the Back of his cloak is his Symbol, a black dragon breathing fire. He carries his Zanpaktou on his hip, as well as several lighters and, surprisingly, an iPod, which he carried with him everywhere he goes, no matter what the situation.

Character/Player Bio:

-Personality:Ryu was raised almost from birth surrounded by violence and death, which has desensitized him to the point that he feels nothing at all when taking a life, innocent or not. He carries this into the rest of his life, only showing emotions on rare occasions, mainly during battle. Ryu has few friends due to his cold, distant nature, twisted sense of humor, and the all around creepiness of his voice, a piercing, quite sound, almost a whisper, that cuts into your very soul when you hear it, no matter what he is saying. However, Lately Ryu has begun to thaw, Suggesting that perhaps the war forced him to hold onto his personality defects for longer than needed. Ryu can be described as a hard worker, with immense focus and concentration, so much so that he can block out almost any outside interference, usually causing him to be late to most meetings. He is extremely impatient, and rarely drags out a fight, preferring to end it quickly, and therefore retain energy. He is extremely organized, and as such is charge of the training sessions, squad deployments, and chore distribution many of the squads, whose Captains are to busy to do this for there own squads. He is highly spiritual, and although he follows no religion in particular, he can often be heard quoting various religious texts, as if he was trying to memorize them. He is quite proud of his skills in shunpo, and although he would never admit it, he gets very upset when anyone calls him slow, going so far as to draw his sword on a fellow Captain, in front of the C.C., when he jokingly remarked that Ryu was "getting slow", due to Ryu being the last of the Captains to arrive. He carries himself with a calm confidence that exudes into his squad mates, giving them a slight boost in self confidence just by him being there. He is know for his rousing speeches (usually given in a monotone voice, which dampens their effect), and was once able to rally an entire platoon of troops about to be routed by Arrancar forces, leading the counter attack himself, showing his immense bravery (although he prefers the term "Stupidity"). Due to his "Modification", his body ages even slower than that of most Shinigami, aging physically only 1 year for every 100 years he has lived, which has given him life experience beyond that of most living beings, and as such is considered one of the wisest Captains as well, (when he can contain emotions). He is Extremely self critical, and always under plays his roles in battles, preferring to give the glory and honor to others, although they in turn shove it back at him. Usually.
